The title says it all – New Zealand has been named the top study abroad country in the world according to the new rankings of Educations.com

The 2019 rankings are based on a survey of over 20,000 students from around the world who shared their priorities and concerns when choosing where to study abroad. The factors that students voiced were then combined with data from various external industry reports in order to score and rank 61 countries.

The seven factors that were used for the ranking to name the top study abroad country are:

  • To experience a new culture
  • To achieve career goals
  • To have an adventure
  • To make new friends/widen professional network
  • To access higher quality teaching
  • To study for free
