Victoria University Sydney puts it’s Students First

Victoria University Sydney’s student-focused teaching model – an Australian-first and exclusive to VUS – is a proven success. Student satisfaction levels are well above the national average, and 90% of VUS students are passing their units. It’s no wonder that the university is a popular choice among aspiring students.

In this innovative teaching model, students focus on just a single unit at a time. The small classes are workshop-style, and are a far cry from large lectures and teaching models where students study three or more units simultaneously.

Advantages of the approach are higher levels of study engagement, reduced experiences of student stress, and a truly balanced study, work, and life student experience.

First year Bachelor of Business student Nathaniel Cabanit appreciates the focused learning mode. He compares his own positive experience with his stressed-out friends at other universities.

“The teacher is making sure we’re engaged and ready to move on to the next unit. I just got a part-time job and I play basketball – which I wouldn’t be able to do if I was in the traditional uni model. My friends at other unis wish they had the kind of free time I do. Some of them had to quit their jobs to focus on their studies.”
